Menzies Welcombe Golf Club

Test your skills on the course that played host to the European Seniors Tour Ryder Event in 1998. With 157 acres of magnificent countryside all around and the spectacular Jacobean style hotel overlooking the seventeenth tee, the Menzies Welcombe golf course provides a truly exhilarating experience.

This championship course is an 18-hole par 70. And from your first drive down the wonderful fairways, you'll discover playing here is a rather unique experience. At 6288 yards, the Menzies Welcombe golf course is deceptively long. It's also been designed to include three par five and five par three holes.

Membership

The Welcombe Golf Club is a thriving, proactive club with a busy competition calendar and a lively, social clubhouse.

Both individual and corporate memberships are available and we openly welcome gentleman, lady and junior golfers.

Practice Facilities & Golf Academy

Prior to teeing off, take the opportunity to warm up on the driving range or practice your short game on our putting green and specifically designed bunker and chipping area.

In addition, our team of PGA Golf Professionals are on hand to offer you the best advice in improving your game.

As specialists in corporate golf entertainment, we're happy to organise every aspect of your day - from arranging tee times and golf buggies to catering, tuition clinics and those all-important prizes. Within the estate we can also arrange a number of other activities including off road motoring, archery and clay pigeon shooting.

The Course

Set against a beautiful backdrop, a round of golf at the Menzies Welcombe Golf Club is a wonderful experience. Our par 70 course, complete with sparkling lakes and rolling countryside, provides a thrilling challenge to the experts and an exhilarating introduction for novices.

But first, before you tee off, take the chance to warm up at the driving range or practice your short game on the putting green. It's the perfect way to hone your skills. And finally, here's our club dress code:

• No jeans and collarless t-shirts are allowed
• No tracksuits are allowed
• Collarless shirts designed specifically for golf may be worn
• Bermuda length tailored short with knee length or white ankle socks may be worn by male members and guests
• Ladies may wear tailored shirts
• Ladies can also wear short ankle socks

Our marvellous Clubhouse is a rather special place to unwind after a challenging 18 holes. The light and airy Atrium is the social hub for all our members. Here you can enjoy some leisurely refreshment in our superb brasserie and bar. And as the terrace bathes in spectacular views of the course, you can relax and watch fellow members find their way home on the 18th hole.

Boasting a tremendous selection of top quality golfers' clothing and equipment, our Pro Shop is the perfect place to ensure you're prepared before you take to the course. We stock many of the leading brands including: Ping, Titleist, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ashworth and Footjoy in addition to a great choice of crested club accessories.

Conveniently, we offer a 'try before you buy' service. We want you to be confident you have the ideal equipment for your game. That's why our staff are always on hand with helpful advice.

For all your special events

The Open Championship Suite is a spectacular venue for special presentations and meetings alike. Here you can comfortably gather as many as 200 people in a theatre style-seating plan.

Of course, there may be times when you simply want a special venue for an intimate party. With a choice of smaller suites available, we'll do all we can to tailor the perfect evening to your needs.

Golf Tuition

When you choose from our wide range of tuition packages, we'll give you a golden opportunity to raise your game to the next level. Our professional team have a great wealth of experience teaching players of all standards. And here at the Academy we'd be delighted to welcome you to a choice of junior, ladies, individual or group classes.

Our tutors are widely renowned for their ability to enhance your play. And as the experts who can develop your game, they'll utilise all the latest techniques such as video swing analysis. You could even reserve a time in one of our specialised Corporate Golf Clinics and pick up some new tips with your business associates.
